Dr. Steven D. Chinn is a Principal Consultant in accreditation preparation from Apex Healthcare Systems, and is the Chief of Quality Management at VA Palo Alto Healthcare System, Pal Alto, CA. Formerly, he was a Joint Commission physician surveyor evaluating hospitals, ambulatory centers, healthcare systems, and managed care organizations.
He was also a compliance surveyor in the California State Department’s HMO medical review program, and has served as a medical consultant for Blue Shield of California/Medicare, San Francisco; a medical consultant for the National Heritage Insurance Company/Medicare, of Chico, California; and as the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Performance Improvement and Risk Management at Fremont Hospital in Fremont, CA. Dr. Chinn is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, National Association for Healthcare Quality, and a Certified Healthcare Executive, American College of Healthcare Executives.
