Environmental Liabilities Bibliographies

Dale Stirling is a historian with more than twenty years' experience as an environmental site investigator. He is currently employed with Intertox, Inc. in Seattle, Washington. Intertox is a scientific research firm that specializes in assessing the impact of chemicals and microbes on public health and the environment. At Intertox, Stirling serves as senior information specialist and conducts land use and forensics site history research for environmental site investigations.

A second list, for the time period 1996-1998, was published two years later, and a third list, for the time period 1999-2002, was published in 2003.

Stirling served on the Washington Department of Ecology's Lender Liability/Due Diligence Work Group from 1992-1995 and he was a member of three key environmental site assessment standard-setting organizations between 1990 and 1996: ASTM, Committee E-50 on Environmental Assessment; National Groundwater Association's Environmental Site Assessment Standards Committee; and American Society of Civil Engineers' Hazardous Waste Site Investigation Manual Committee. Stirling is also co-author of the only book dedicated to the site history investigation process, Site Histories: Documenting Hazards for Environmental Site Assessments.
